Melissa Maternity

As the story goes, this maternity shoot for Melissa was actually used as a distraction while Mario's family was at home setting up for her surprise baby shower. Ive known Mario for the past 10 years, so I really wanted to try something new and make these special. We deconstructed my front living room and used the window as a main light. Originally we were planned to shoot outside, but shooting outside at 4pm practically suicide in this Arizona heat. So we improvised and by simplifying the whole approach it helped me focused more on using the direct light to highlight Melissa's belly. After looking at the whole collection of finished images I couldn't help but to get a little teary eyed. Congrats you two on the twin baby boys. Salud

Kofa Folkloric Event

For years my mom has worked in education, previously as a library and various other positions helping Hispanic immigrant children and kids with special needs. Along with her academic duties she had practiced the art of hispanic folkloric dance. Along with fellow teachers and best friend Martina, they had performed this folkloric dance at various events in Yuma at their school well as city events like the Tamale Festival in Somerton. Now that time has passed my mom had decided to stop dancing and has focused her efforts on teaching the dance. My mom and her best friend Martina now teach at the same high school Kofa High. Where they host a dance club teaching all the different variations of folkloric dance & music. Hosting an event like this was a dream of Martina's and it was a special night for everyone involved. It was the first of many, and we hope that with more volunteers & donations we can keep hosting these events and sharing our culture. No one was paid, many of the dresses and costumes were also donated. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported! Salud!

Red For ED Walkout / Yuma

I went out with my momma on the first day of the Red For Education Walkout. She is a special education teacher at Kofa High School,  a noble & trustworthy woman. Along with all the other teachers in Arizona who deserve much more. This was a big moment in history, not only for my Mother, but for society itself. Hopefully this walkout will bring some sincere attention the compensation to educators. Without violence, minus anger & with fair conversations about what really matters in this whole thing, which I believe is the future education for our children at a premium level. If you see someone you may know or even yourself, feel free to click the link or images below & download to share your support for #REDFORED

Gabys Birthday Weekend in El Golfo

El Golfo is our dirty paradise. The place we go to disconnect and unwind from everything & just practice being in the present moment. This trip Jose brought over his girlfriend for the first time to celebrate her birthday. With the exception of a few missing people I couldn't have asked for a better group of people. It was a short trip but well spent. Salud
